Sisters Are the Best!!

My wonderful, beautiful, smart, intelligent, talented, sweet, loving sister made me the most gorgeous necklace! She oxidized sterling silver wire, wrapped it to form this lovely pendant, and added pretty champagne topaz. Thank you, Stephanie! You're the best!!

Remembering Aydan

I think about him everyday. Out of nowhere it will cross my mind; Hey. I should have a two-and-a-half year old running around here. I should be taking him to the park, pushing him on the swings, and sliding down the slide with him. Every time I go into a store I think; I should be buying him that cute outfit, book, or toy. I wonder what he'd be saying now. Mama? Daddy? Full sentences? Could we be carrying on our own special mommy/son conversation right now? Wonder what it would be like to hear him say, "I love you, Mommy!" What would he look like? Blue eyes like his daddy, or green eyes like me?
These are just a few of the things I think about every day. A part of me is missing. It really is.

This is a poem I wrote for Aydan about a year ago:

I want to see your radiant smile
It always made me smile too.
I remember how it would light up your face,
And your blue eyes would sparkle.

I would look at you, and you would look at me,
And it seemed we understood each other.
I love you with the deepest love a person could feel.
I have from your beginning, and I always will.

I know your time with us was brief,
But you were here for a reason.
You opened up my eyes and showed me
Love's true meaning.

I wish I could still hold you close,
And squeeze your hands, and kiss your toes.
I wish I could still sing to you,
Smile down at you,
And watch you smile back.

But wait, I do still sing to you.
Even though you're an angel now,
I know you can still hear me.
But now when I sing,
You are smiling down at me.

Fashion Friday - Featured Seller

There are so many awesome sellers over at Etsy! Today, I discovered harrilu. She sells original hand silkscreened designs for men, women, children, even babies! And totes too!
I just love her Aqua Poppies Shirred Poofy Cap Sleeve Tee (as seen below), and think it goes wonderfully with my Boho Chic Bracelet!

I still haven't recovered from the pain of the dent this put in my pocket. I've contemplated whether it would be worth spending a small fortune on a freakin' VACUUM for a while now. My conclusion was: yes. At least I sure hope so! After my former model (whom, I won't mention) went kaput after barely a year, I figured, heck, I may even save money in the long run. Allergy meds, asthma inhalers, dud vacuums. Need I say more? I broke down and got a Dyson Animal. And no, not just because it's purple!☺Seriously, I have a major allergy problem. Dust, dander, hair, you name it! This particular model is designed for pet owners (that's me!), and asthma sufferers (me also!)!! So far, I'm loving it and thinking it was money well spent. I think I've made a good little investment. I've never been eager to rush home and vacuum before!! It was together in two minutes and I vacuumed the living room floor (which had just been vacuumed with my old model). I was shocked, and a little disturbed, at how much this thing picked up! I've been walking around on that, I thought?! It picked up particles so small - My husband and I both commented we could breathe better almost immediately (did I mention I own cats? lol). Vacuuming may just become my favorite chore. I'm sure there will be more rave reviews to come.
